Patients with Insulin Resistance or Blood Sugars Higher than Optimal

Insulin resistance and high blood sugars are becoming a national epidemic, and are common problems for which we screen our patients. Our protocol here is to treat insulin resistance and reduce blood sugars before a patient ends up with diabetes. Patients with these lab profiles are at risk for being overweight and obese, gaining weight around the abdomen, feeling fatigued, cardiovascular disease, high cholesterol, and other problems such as acne.

We now have a new supplement product, Berberine Plus, which has been shown to normalize blood sugars and reduce fasting insulin levels as efficiently as the well-known pharmaceutical product Metformin/Glucophage with fewer side effects and risks. New research shows it reduces LDH cholesterol as well.

If you have a family history of cardiac disease, abdominal weight gain, acne, or diabetes and would like to be screened, or if you already know your blood sugar levels are too high and would like to try Berberine, please call our office to schedule an appointment at (415) 383-9903.
